Before getting started, make sure you've watched Captain Nate's introduction video.

The Focus

Essential Question

In what ways are you not alone as a Christian?

  • Colossians 1:9-14
  • Colossians 3:12-17
  • 1 Corinthians 4:17
  • Proverbs 27:17
What does it mean to possess and exercise Spirit-Control, as opposed to self-control? Compare and contrast these two in a few words.

Read the passages from Colossians again. Pick out two pieces of advice Paul gave to the church in Colossae that you could apply in your own life.

You are called to live in peace with others. How can you live peaceably with those around you?

In Romans 8, Paul states, “those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.” What does it mean to be an adopted son of God?

In Galatians 1:10, Paul challenges us to question who we are seeking to please. Who are you trying to please? Look back to a situation that occurred recently in which you were seeking to please a person, how might that situation have turned out differently if you were seeking to please God?

Do you practice Christian fellowship? How can you be more purposeful in your relationships?

Paul was content, not because he had everything that he wanted, but because he knew that God was in control even in tough circumstances. Read James 1:2-4. How can you have joy when you are going through a tough time? How does going through that difficult circumstance help you grow?

Reach out to someone today and ask them how you can pray for them.
