Program Description

For teen guys ages 15+

Pedal Across the Adirondacks
The goal of this NEW cycling trip is to see God’s creation from a different vantage point (a bike) while growing in our walk with the Lord and fellowship with brothers. We want to test and see how the body, bikes, and spirits hold up with this terrain, mileage, and our plans. Ideally the trip is geared for 15.5 -18 years old, and is very challenging, you must be in good shape.

Starting and finishing from the entrance to NFC, we will ride together 40 – 50 miles per day for a total of 265 miles through Adirondack Park. We will plan to visit Lake George, Fort Ticonderoga, Whiteface Summit (optional), Lake Placid, Long Lake, Tupper Lake, Indian Lake, etc. The adventure is yours for the taking. Please reach out to Chip DuCharme (803-517-2590) with any interest or questions. Chip DuCharme has led many summer trips at NF (Explorer, 46er, battalion volunteer, and was on Hard Core).

Bikes, clip in shoes, food, tents, sleeping pads provided by Northern Frontier Camp. Please have some cycling experience ahead of time in order to better understand your gears. You will need to have your own helmet, padded bike shorts, and biking jersey (short and long sleeve).

Pre-requisite – good physical condition, strength and endurance.
