Work Weekends

During the Spring and Fall, we host several work weekends. These weekends are mainly for adult volunteers who love our ministry and desire to help with meaningful projects. Volunteers with expert trade skills greatly help, but many projects require little to no skill! The only pre-requisite is a good attitude and a servant’s heart.

What to Expect

A typical work weekend runs from Friday to Sunday. Many volunteer groups arrive late afternoon on Friday. Saturday starts early with an 8:00 AM breakfast and a full day of work projects. Some of our groups arrive with a project they’re ready to take on. Others will be given tasks after they arrive. Although we have a maintenance garage filled with tools, it’s best to come prepared with your equipment. This helps save each crew from finding and borrowing tools while ensuring that the Camp’s equipment is operational during the summer.

Lunch is served at noon, followed by an afternoon of work projects. We tend to wind down in the evening after dinner, served at 6:00 PM.

Waking up on Sunday, we will again have breakfast at 8:00 AM. Afterward, we invite everyone to join us for a time of worship. We’ll lift our voices and sing praise songs, followed by a brief sermon from our camp director. Lunch is again at noon and there will be free time to enjoy the camp in the afternoon.

Sleeping arrangements will be rustic, as most groups will stay in our camper cabins. Each cabin is outfitted with electricity but little to no temperature control. Bring your sleeping bag and pillow and toiletries. There’s a bathhouse nearby with hot-water showers for washing.

Families are welcome to come, but we do not offer childcare services.
