overview
Take off into the woods of the Adirondacks with your son for three days of trail, tent and tent-campfire.
Leave screens behind. Carry your pack, hike the ridge lines, ford the creek, and set your tent under the stars. While rugged enough to feel like an adventure, the route will be planned with your group’s strength in mind and led by experienced staff.
You’ll dig into God’s Word together on the trail and around the fire. Expect meaningful conversations, simple meals in the outdoors, plenty of father-son laughter, and a few long, quiet moments for both of you to hear from the Creator in the stillness.
Your trip will follow selected backpacking routes in the region—scenic ridge walks, forest-floor trails, mountain views, creek crossings, and a back-country camp. The route will be adapted to the group’s abilities and preferences. Your leaders will carry the map and know the terrain. Each father and son will carry their own packs (sharing and helping each other encouraged). Make sure you’re physically ready for hikes of up to several miles each day with elevation changes and full camping gear.
If you plan to fish during the trip, a NY State fishing license is required for everyone 16 years and older. The cost for a NY State resident is $12.00 for a 7-day permit or $25.00 for the season, $5 for seniors (70+),. Non-resident costs are $28.00 for a 7-day permit or $50.00 for a full season. Please purchase it before your arrival at camp.
