overview
Come join us at Northern Frontier as we explore God’s beautiful creation in the Adirondack Mountains.
Together you will man a canoe, improve your paddling skills, navigate large lakes, and link them with slow current rivers or small portages. Some of the popular routes we have taken are linking the Saranac Lakes, Raquette Lake to Blue Mtn. Lake, and Long Lake. You will explore winding rivers and enjoy the time spent with your son while encouraged and surrounded by our great staff and other fathers and sons as well. Dive into God’s Word together, fish, swim and have great fellowship around the fire at night.
The canoe routes on the Adirondack lakes and rivers as planned by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation are adapted to the abilities, needs, and desires of each group. Your leaders will be familiar with the route selected. Each father and son will share one canoe. There will be portages (canoe carries) on the trip, which will require up to 1/2 mile of hiking with a pack. Please make sure you are in physical shape to handle this amount of hiking.
If you plan to fish during the trip, a NY State fishing license is required for everyone 16 years and older. The cost for a NY State resident is $12.00 for a 7-day permit or $25.00 for the season, $5 for seniors (70+),. Non-resident costs are $28.00 for a 7-day permit or $50.00 for a full season. Please purchase it before your arrival at camp.
