Build memories that last. Grow closer to your son. Spend time with God in the wilderness.
The perfect introduction to Northern Frontier Camp for both dads and boys! Enjoy fun-filled, purposeful, quality time. A matchless program for fathers who want to be a mentor and friends to their sons. Each day, you’ll choose two or three of our many activities to do with your son. These include our zip line, our rock climbing wall, sailing, swimming, canoeing, fishing, ropes course, air riflery, archery, model rocketry, slingshot, craft shop, and more.
You will have afternoon free time, enjoy the company of a fine group of men and boys, sing camp songs, laugh at skits, and listen to some of the finest campfire stories you’ve ever heard–all with the intent of drawing you and your son closer to each other and to God.
You will be sleeping in a cabin with other father-son pairs. And, although we are in the middle of the wilderness, you will have private hot showers and enclosed flush toilets a short walk from your cabin!
For teen guys 12+ years old and their Dads.
Take this step up. At his age, your son has crossed an important line into manhood. It’s important to treat him that way. We want to help you “grow a man” out of that son of yours who isn’t a kid anymore. At Northern Frontier, the role models he’ll see, the stories he’ll hear, and the things he’ll do, will be geared to his emerging manhood.
Bring your son for a snack after campfire. Stay up with him a little later with a few friends or a board game. Take advantage of the “Older Guys” activities, like .22 riflery and rock climbing on nearby cliffs.
You may choose to take a day away from camp fishing, mountain hiking (moderate or strenuous) or seeing an Adirondack attraction like the Adirondack Museum or The Wild Center.
However, if you would rather stay in camp, you can choose from activities like our zip line, our rock climbing wall, holy cow swing, rappelling, sailing, swimming, canoeing, fishing, ropes course, .22 riflery, archery, model rocketry, and more.
You will sleep each night in one of our spacious cabins, and enjoy Northern Frontier’s acclaimed food, campfires, and hospitality. And, although we are in the middle of the wilderness, you will have private hot showers and enclosed flush toilets a short walk from your cabin!

Frequently Asked Questions
Father & Son Camp
Who is Father & Son Camp for?
Father & Son Camp is for dads and sons ages 8 and up who want to spend intentional time together in a Christ-centered wilderness setting. Whether you’re new to camp or returning for another summer, it’s a time to unplug, have fun, and build your bond in the outdoors.
What’s the difference between Tree Climber and Father & Son Camp?
Tree Climbers is for boys ages 6–8 and follows a more structured, age-appropriate program. Father & Son Camp is for boys 8 and up, with wider access to activities and a bit more freedom in how you spend your time.
What’s the daily schedule like?
Mornings begin with breakfast and a short Bible lesson. Days are filled with activities, meals, rest time, and shared cabin devotions in the evening. Campfire is a highlight each night—expect singing, stories, and a message that encourages both dads and sons.
What happens if it rains?
We run rain or shine. We adjust the schedule as needed and have plenty of indoor activities. Come prepared with waterproof gear and an open mind. Some of the best memories are made in the rain.
What’s the sleeping situation?
You’ll stay in a shared cabin with other father-son pairs. Each has bunks and basic storage. Modern bathrooms and hot showers are a short walk away. You’ll need to bring your own sleeping bags, pillows, and towels.
What if we have dietary restrictions or allergies?
Our kitchen is equipped to accommodate most common food allergies and restrictions. Be sure to indicate dietary needs when registering, and we’ll be in touch if we need more info.
Is it safe?
Yes. Northern Frontier is accredited by the American Camp Association. All activities are run by trained and certified staff. Our health center is staffed with a licensed medical provider, and all cabins are checked in daily by a Director or Senior Staff member.
Can we bring our phones or tablets?
Nope—and that’s the point. Camp is a screen-free zone. We want you fully present with your son and immersed in the wilderness. If there’s an emergency, our staff will help you get in touch with home.
Can I bring more than one son?
Absolutely. Just indicate that on your registration form. There’s an additional fee per son, and we recommend bringing another adult if you’re bringing more than two boys.
What if my son is nervous or homesick?
That’s normal, especially for first-timers. But the beauty of Father & Son Camp is that you’re right there with him. Our setting, schedule, and staff are all geared toward helping you create a shared, meaningful experience that puts him at ease.
