God’s Word at the Center of It All
At Northern Frontier, faith isn’t an add-on to the camp experience. It’s the foundation of everything we do. Every paddle stroke, every shared meal, every moment around the fire points back to our mission to help boys grow into men of God.
God’s Word is woven through the rhythms of camp life. Each week has a theme verse that guides lessons and conversations, and every skill area has its own key verse that connects practical learning to spiritual truth. Campers also memorize Scripture throughout the week, learning not just to recite verses but to understand what they mean and how they shape their lives.
Bible Exploration
Each morning after breakfast, cabins gather for what we call Bible Ex, short for Bible Exploration. Counselors open God’s Word with their campers, reading together, asking questions, and talking through what it means to follow Jesus in real life. These aren’t lectures, they’re conversations. It’s a time for boys to discover how faith connects to the world around them, guided by men who are living it out.Daily Rhythm of Worship
Faith shows up in small moments, too. Every meal begins with prayer, and each day has a “Verse of the Day” that campers hear, discuss, and try to live out together. By the end of the week, they’ve spent time praying, reflecting, and seeing how Scripture shapes everyday life.
Evening Campfire and Cabin Devotions
As the day winds down, the entire camp gathers at the evening campfire. Songs, skits, and laughter fill the night, followed by a short message or testimony from one of our counselors. These moments are simple and powerful, often becoming the most remembered part of a camper’s week.
Back in the cabins, counselors lead evening devotions, giving each camper a chance to share about the day, talk through what they’re learning, and pray together before lights out.
Sunday Worship
Each Sunday morning, camp pauses for worship together as a community. Music is led by members of our staff, and the message is shared by a director, local pastor, or long-time alumni. It’s a time of celebration, reflection, and renewal, and serves as a reminder that God is at work not just in the wilderness, but in every heart.
A Living Faith
Faith at Northern Frontier is active. It’s experienced, not just explained. Through Scripture, song, and shared moments in the outdoors, boys begin to see that following Christ is a way of life.
When they leave, our hope is simple: that they walk away knowing who God is, what His Word says, and how they can live it out with courage and joy wherever they go.
