Year-End Appeal 2024

Psalm 119:9-16
How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my
heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin
against you… Teach me your decrees…I rejoice in your statutes…I meditate on your precepts…I delight in your
decrees, I will not neglect your Word.

As I read this psalm, I reflect on the boys at camp this summer sitting on their bunks, on a big boulder by the Hudson River, or perched on some massive hemlock roots by OK Slip Pond, engaged in Bible Exploration. I am grateful for the boys coming to NF, whose counselor leads them through 30-40 minutes of reading, studying, and discussing God’s Word. These boys are learning skills, memorizing scripture, worshiping Christ in song around a campfire, and experiencing firsthand what it means to love God and serve Him from our staff. In my mind, I can still hear countless CORE groups reciting scripture while treading water and cabins and singing songs on the trails. At Northern Frontier, campers can be in awe of God’s handiwork, renew their faith, forge friendships, and learn skills, and through all of it, God is glorified!

Our world needs more boys and men to stand on biblical convictions. I am grateful for our staff, the example they set for our campers, and what they have given up to serve God at Northern Frontier. It has been said at times that Northern Frontier is “for boys,” and other times, it has been said that Northern Frontier is “for the staff,” but I want to quote a former NF director and mentor of mine and challenge you to believe that “Northern Frontier is for Christ.” The reason Northern Frontier exists is to bring God glory through his people choosing to love and serve Him and follow His laws, decrees, and commands. We at Northern Frontier firmly stand behind our mission of developing boys, young men, and fathers into godly leaders, knowing that they will one day lead in their homes, workplaces, and churches. Our ministry will soon be 79 years old, and we are ever so grateful to God for His provisions!

I remember one conversation I had with a particular camper I was counseling. He had been coming with his dad for several years and on his own for a week or two. He has felt acceptance, enjoyed the adventure, had great conversations with our staff about his walk with God, and loved being in this atmosphere so much that he called it “his home away from home.” That’s what NF is to so many: a home away from home where they can be encouraged to grow and follow Jesus.

Northern Frontier is so grateful for your prayers and ongoing support. Please continue to partner with us by sending your sons, grandson, and their friends, as well as promoting all God is doing through Northern Frontier in your families, churches, and schools. This past summer, we had 35 more camper weeks above 2023’s total but are still working to see our camper numbers get back to pre-COVID registrations; we have a deficit of $25,000 in incoming funds due to this rebuilding. We also have $120,000 left to meet our 2024 yearly General Fund giving target budget. Would you prayerfully consider giving if you can help us toward our goal of $145,000 by year’s end? Thank you for supporting Northern Frontier Camp!

Stay Bright and Keen for Christ!
