Hello NF Family and Friends!

Let me begin by saying that it is truly an honor to partner in ministry with Northern Frontier as the Assistant Camp Director. Camp has been a big part of my life since my first summer as a Treeclimber in 1998. I looked forward to spending multiple weeks at Camp during the summer and enjoyed being involved with my local Brigade unit throughout the school year. The camp was instrumental in my walk with the Lord. In 2007, after working on Service Crew and spending most of my summer at Camp, I surrendered my life to Christ.

I came on staff as a junior counselor in 2008 and returned years later to serve as the Service Crew Chief in 2015. The following fall, I started to work alongside Ron Rynd with Christian Service Brigade and was hired as the Regional Director in 2017. I worked with CSB until 2019 and earned an undergraduate degree in Theology through Moody’s Distance Learning program in those two years. My wife and I married in 2018 and served at Northern Frontier in 2019. After that summer, we moved to Chicago, and I began my work toward a Master’s Degree in Divinity.

Even though hundreds of miles separated us from the Adirondack mountains, I still managed to find excuses to get back to camp. Captain Chris and I stayed connected as I helped maintain the camp website, aspects of social media, and graphic design. Over time I found that my once Battalion Program Director, turned Camp Director and personal mentor, had become one of my closest friends. God has used Captain Chris and the Studley family to bless my life and marriage.

I want to take a moment and acknowledge one person who played a considerable role in my growth as a young man. He showed me grace and truth during the times I needed it most. God used him to humble me, stifle my pride, and challenge me to be a better man–a man of God. Captain Budd’s impact on my life, and the lives of many young men, cannot be measured. His example as a follower of Christ, minister, mentor, and friend will forever encourage me.

Thank you for your prayers and support of the ministry at Northern Frontier! I look forward to meeting and knowing Camp’s families in the coming years. Please don’t hesitate to contact me through email if you want to connect with me directly.

Bright and Keen for Christ,
Capt. Pete Westerman
